Cornbread Recipe uses eggs, buttermilk, shortening, salt, cornmeal, baking powder and baking soda to create this simple but excellent bread which makes tasty dressing or stuffing.


INGREDIENTS
2 eggs
2 cups buttermilk
3 tablespoons shortening, melted
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
2 1/2 cups cornmeal
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda


DIRECTIONS
1: Beat eggs until light. Add buttermilk and melted shortening; mix well.
 
2: Mix dry ingredients together. Add to egg mixture; beat until smooth. Pour into a greased 9-inch square baking pan.
 
3: Bake at 375°F about 25 minutes. Serve hot.
