INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup (8 oz) finely cut pitted prunes
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

DIRECTIONS

  • In a small, heavy-bottomed saucepan, combine prunes, water, and sugar. Simmer gently for several minutes, stirring frequently, until mass is thick enough to hold its shape and prunes have absorbed the water. Stir in lemon juice.
