INGREDIENTS

  • 2 1/2 pounds lean pork, cut in 1-inch cubes
  • 1 Tbl. vegetable oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (12 ounces) Mexican green tomatoes (tomatillos)
  • 2 cans ( 4 ounces each) green chilies
  • 1 Tbl. dried cilantro leaves
  • 1 tsp. marjoram
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 cup water
  • Cooked rice
  • Sour cream

DIRECTIONS

  • Brown meat in oil in large skillet. Push meat to sides of skillet; add onion and garlic and cook until onion is soft.
  • Add green tomatoes, chilies, cilantro, marjoram, salt and water and mix well.
  • Cover; bring to boiling, reduce heat and simmer until meat is tender (depending on cut of meat used, about 2 hours.
  • Serve with rice and top with dollops of sour cream. 6 to 8 servings.
