INGREDIENTS

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 tsp. Lawry's Seasoned Salt
  • 1/4 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 Tbl. Worcestershire Sauce

DIRECTIONS

  • Chop onion so that pieces of onion are about the size of a black-eyed pea. Place onion and all of the other ingredients into a bowl of suitable size to allow for thorough mixing of the ingredients. Mix well. Once all ingredients are well mixed, divide the meat mixture into two equal portions. Form each portion into a round-flat patty.
  • Ground beef has a tendency to rise-up or swell in the middle of the patty once placed on heat. Deal with this in one of two ways: 1. If patties are to be cooked on a charcoal type grill, curl the finger tips of one hand toward the palm. Using the first three fingers, press the fingers between the first and second knuckles into the middle of the patties and press so that the indention made in the patty is about 1/2 the thickness of the patties.
  • 2. On a griddle, press the patties with a spatula on the first flip to return the patties to their original thickness.
  • Prepare grill to cook patties as you would normally cook hamburger patties. If a flat griddle is used, set temperature to 350°F. If stove top skillet, set to medium high. Place patties on heat and cook for three minutes - flip patties over. (If the cooking utensil used allows grease to accumulate, drain as necessary to keep patties as grease free as possible. If a griddle is used, push grease away with spatula.) Cook for 2 minutes, flip. Repeat the 2 minute flips until internal temperature on a thermometer reaches 165° for well-done. If no thermometer is available the center of the patties will have to be cut into to determine doneness. Enjoy!
