INGREDIENTS

  • 1 lb. peeled deveined headless shrimp
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 head garlic, minced
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 2 Tbl paprika
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper

DIRECTIONS

  • Combine flour, paprika and cayenne pepper, mix well. Coat shrimp with flour. Set shrimp aside.
  • Heat large skillet over low heat. Add butter and oil. After butter melts, add garlic and cooking, stirring frequently, for 3 to 5 minutes.
  • Raise heat to medium and allow oil butter mixture to increase temperature. Add shrimp in one layer and cook for 3 to 4 minutes. Turn shrimp over and cook for another 3 to 4 minutes. (Oil butter mixture needs to be hot enough to form a crust on the shrimp.) NOTE: the paprika turns the shrimp a very dark brown. Don't be concerned they are not burning.
  • Squeeze a little fresh lemon juice over shrimp and serve.
