INGREDIENTS

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 beef bouillon cube
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 packet Lipton® Beefy Onion Soup Mix
  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup milk or substitute 1 cup water
  • 1 15 ounce can sweet peas (optional)
  • 12 to 16 ounces cooked penne rigate noodles

DIRECTIONS

  • Over medium heat, brown the ground beef breaking up any large clumps of meat. If necessary, remove excess grease by draining the ground beef in a colander. Return meat to low heat. Add bouillon cube, crumbled, to the meat. Stir well. Add salt and pepper, stir.
  • Add contents of soup mix packet, sprinkling over the meat. Stir mixture well to completely coat the meat with the soup mix. Add flour and stir well to coat the meat with the flour. Stir well until all flour is completely incorporated into the meat mixture. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Add beef broth and return to medium heat. Stir well and continue stirring until mixture thickens. Add milk and stir well until mixture thickens.
  • Pour meat noodle mixture into a 9-inch x 13-inch casserole dish. Cover tightly with aluminum foil. Place dish in 350°F. oven and cook for 30 minutes. Remove dish from oven, remove foil and let stand for 5 minutes before serving.
