INGREDIENTS

  • 1 1/2 pounds raw shrimp
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/8 tsp. paprika
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • Corn meal

DIRECTIONS

  • Shell shrimp leaving tail shell section intact. Remove black vein from the back of the shrimp by carefully using a sharp knife to slit the back or by using a vein removal tool.
  • Combine milk, paprika and salt in a bowl.
  • Soak shrimp in seasoned milk 30 minutes. Season with additional salt and roll in corn meal.
  • Fry in oil (375°F) until golden brown. Drain on absorbent paper towels. Serve with tartar or cocktail sauce. NOTE: shrimp cook quickly and if over cooked become tough and without flavor. Time the cook and do not cook more than 3 minutes.
