INGREDIENTS

  • 12 medium doves, cleaned
  • 1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup water, divided
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • Cooked wild rice

DIRECTIONS

  • Place doves in a large iron skillet; sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  • Pour 1/2 cup water into skillet; cover tightly and steam over medium heat 20 minutes.
  • Remove lid and continue cooking until all water is gone.
  • Remove dove from skillet. Add butter, flour, and water as needed to make a drippings gravy. Serve with rice.
