INGREDIENTS

  • 1 lb. beef top sirloin steak
  • 1 cup water
  • 5 Tbl. brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 Tbl. honey
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp. ginger, fresh, grated
  • 1/4 cup Worcestershire Sauce
  • 3 Tbl. white vinegar
  • 1 Tbl. onion, minced
  • 1/4 cup cold water
  • 2 Tbl. cornstarch

DIRECTIONS

  • Place all ingredients, except sirloin, into a medium sauce pan over medium heat to create a marinade.
  • Heat the mixture until sugar is thoroughly dissolved. Allow to cool to room temperature.
  • Place the sirloin into a glass baking dish and cover with the marinade. Cover with a lid or plastic wrap. The sirloin may be marinated as long as you like in the refrigerator. Turn the sirloin every few hours to allow the marinade to saturate all parts of the sirloin.
  • To cook, remove the sirloin from the marinade. Cook the sirloin in your favorite manner - over a charcoal grill, under a broiler or in a skillet. Suggest a thermometer be used to monitor internal temperature of the sirloin.
