INGREDIENTS

  • 1 lb. mild fish, cut into 1 inch wide strips
  • 1/2 recipe of Baja Fish Taco Fish Batter Recipe
  • Oil of choice for deep frying

DIRECTIONS

  • Cut mild fish such as Cod, Haddock, Snapper, Grouper or Halibut into 1 inch wide strips 4 to 6 inches long.
  • Prepare 1/2 recipe of Baja Fish Taco Fish Batter Recipe. Search recipes for the batter recipe.
  • Heat oil in pot deep enough for frying battered fish strips. Heat oil to 350°F.
  • Place strips of fish into batter and coat fish well. Lift individual strips out of the batter and allow excess batter to drain off fish. Slowly place fish strip into hot oil. Repeat with additional pieces of battered fish taking care to not overcrowd the pot with the strips. After strips have cooked for about 30 seconds, slowly move the strips around inside the pot to prevent them from sticking together. Cook for 3 minutes, remove from pot and place on paper towels. Repeat process for remaining fish strips.
