INGREDIENTS

  • 1 quart water
  • 1/2 stalk celery
  • 1 carrot, sliced
  • 1 small white onion, sliced
  • Juice of 1/2 lemon
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1 lb. raw shrimp, fresh or frozen

DIRECTIONS

  • Put water in saucepan. Add all ingredients except shrimp.
  • Bring water to boil.
  • Add shrimp and let water come to a boil again.
  • Turn heat down so water just simmers. Cover saucepan and let shrimp cook 2 to 5 minutes, never longer. Drain shrimp.
