INGREDIENTS

  • 1 pound ground beef (chuck or round)
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup fine soft bread crumbs
  • 1 tablespoon instant minced onion
  • 1 tablespoon minced parsley
  • 3/4 cup finely chopped toasted walnuts
  • 1 teaspoon chili con carne seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon seasoned salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon seasoned pepper
  • 1 tablespoon cooking oil
  • Spicy Ketchup Dip (search recipes)

DIRECTIONS

  • Set out a large skillet. Combine in a large bowl ground beef, egg, milk, bread crumbs, minced onion, minced parsley, and toasted walnuts. Add a blend of chili con carne seasoning, salt, and pepper. Toss with a fork until thoroughly mixed. Shape mixture into 1-inch balls.
  • Heat cooking oil in the skillet.
  • Add meat balls to hot oil and brown them on all sides over medium heat, shaking skillet occasionally to keep meat balls as round as possible. When balls are cooked to desired doneness, remove them from skillet and keep warm until ready to serve.
  • To serve, dip warm balls in Spicy Ketchup Dip and in finely chopped toasted walnuts.
