INGREDIENTS

  • 1 lb. boneless pork
  • 1/4 C fat, butter, margarine or vegetable oil
  • 3 medium sized onions
  • 1 1/2 Cups water
  • 1 No.2 can bean sprouts
  • 1 t Ac´cent
  • 2 Cups slivered celery
  • 2 tart apples, thinly sliced
  • Soy sauce to taste
  • 3 T cornstarch

DIRECTIONS

  • Cut pork in narrow strips about 2 inches long. Brown in hot fat; remove. Add onions; brown slightly.
  • Return pork to frying pan; add water, liquid from bean sprouts, and Ac´cent. Cover; simmer 30 minutes.
  • Add celery and apples; cook 10 minutes longer. Add soy sauce if desired.
  • Dissolve cornstarch in little cold water; add stirring constantly until thickened. Add bean sprouts: bring to boiling point. Served with hot cooked rice. Serves 6.
