INGREDIENTS

  • 6 green peppers
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1/2 pound ground meat
  • 1 can chili con carne (plain or with beans) drained, save liquid
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 raw or canned tomato, chopped

DIRECTIONS

  • Remove stems and seeds from peppers. Parboil in boiling water for 5 minutes. Combine meat, chili con carne, onion, salt, and tomato.
  • Stuff peppers and arrange in shallow baking pan or casserole. Pour liquid from chili con carne plus 1/2 cup water over peppers. Bake in moderate oven (350°F.) for 45 minutes.
