INGREDIENTS

  • 1 pound country style pork ribs
  • 2 Tbl vegetable oil
  • 1 Tbl ground cumin
  • barbecue sauce

DIRECTIONS

  • Place oil in an oven proof skillet over medium-high heat. Once oil begins to shimmer, add ribs individually to the skillet. Move each rib around to prevent the rib from sticking to the skillet. Repeat process until all ribs are in the skillet.
  • Preheat oven to 270°F. Allow ribs to brown on one side, then turn each rib to another side to brown.
  • When all sides of the ribs are browned, sprinkle the ribs with the cumin. Cover the skillet with a tight fitting lid or cover tightly with aluminum foil.
  • Place the skillet with the ribs onto the middle rack of the oven. Set a timer for 30 minutes. However, check the temperature of the ribs at about 15 minutes in the oven. If the ribs are at 170°F remove from oven, slather with barbecue sauce and serve.
